"Champagne : the Wine of celebrations" 


THE TOUR : 

Rheims, capital city of the Champagne region and the city of coronations where most of the French Kings were crowned. Although the town suffered much destruction during World Wars I & II the Gothic cathedral and the Saint-Remi Basilica where the coronation ceremonies took place have been preserved. Today, Rheims is a charming provincial town famous for its champagne cellars, production and hillsides dotted with vineyards. 


ITINERARY : 

We cross Paris by the eastern districts as far as Porte de Bercy and then take the eastern motorway where we make a stop for a break (refreshments are at client's own charge) before arriving in Rheims around 10.45 am. 
Our visit includes a guided visit of the Gothic cathedral and an orientation tour of the city. Guided visit of the Piper Heidsieck cellars in which we will be driven in small cars (commentary in 7 different languages). In the afternoon we drive to Epernay passing by la Montagne de Rheims for a guided visit of the Moët & Chandon cellars and wine tasting. We leave Epernay at 4.00 pm and return to Paris around 6.30 pm.

Tour duration : 6 1/2 hours.
