VERSAILLES APARTMENTS 

"Versailles with your guide" 


Versailles represents a reminder of the grandeur of classical French architecture. The lavish decoration and layout of the entire site reflect the will of King Louis XIV, known as the "Sun King". In the beautifully decorated State Apartments (Hall of Mirrors, Queen's apartments & Reception Halls) our guide will enthrall you on the life of the Kings. The extravaganza of the Palace gardens (designed by André Le Nôtre) and the fountains are other souvenirs of this rich period in French history. 

ITINERARY : 

We leave Paris by the western districts of the city and follow the Normandy motorway as far as Versailles  (travel time average 40 minutes).

Our tour continues with a guided visit of the King and Queen's State apartments within the palace. Free time after the guided tour for exploring the palace gardens.

Duration : 3.5 hr.

* Winter season (11/01/01 to 03/22/02) : 9.30am 
Days : Every day except Monday and French public holidays and 1st Sunday of each month.
* Summer season (03/23/02 to 11/03/02) : 9.30am and 2.45pm 
Days : Every day except Monday and Sunday afternoon.  N.B. : Open on French public holidays during the summer season.

* This tour offers the advantage of a door-to-door coach transport between Paris and the Versailles Palace. 
* All visits to the palace are reserved in advance, so clients do not have to queue to enter the palace. 
* A guided tour is particularly recommended at Versailles for clients looking for an insight into the lifes of the French sovereigns and their courtiers. 
* Our guides remain at client's entire disposal for any additional questions on Versailles not covered in the visit. 
* Please note that flash photography within the Versailles Palace is forbidden. 
* We suggest a good pair of walking / flat shoes to avoid discomfort whilst visiting the cobbled palace courtyard.
