Eurostar Information and Statistics
The Eurostar is the international train operating between the United Kingdom and Mainland
Europe. Eurostar is operated jointly by Eurostar (U.K.) Limited, the French Railways
(SNCF) and the Belgium Railways (SNCB).
Eurostar reaches speeds of 186mph (300kph) and generates 1400 KW of power,
equivalent to 20 Formula One racing cars.
There are 766 passenger seats on every Eurostar train, which is equivalent to two
Boeing 747 airplanes. Each train is made up of 18 passenger coaches and 2 bar cars,
with a power car at each end. All carriages are fully air conditioned, with
multi-lingual Train Managers and crew on every train. There are 2 buffet cars and
trolley service on selected trains. Choice of smoking and non smoking carriages
(to be stated at time of booking). Each train is made up of 25 Premium first seats
(1 carriage) and 548 Standard Class seats (10 carriages).

Explanation of Fares

Premium Fare |
The First Premium service is available on every train between
London and Paris. Service includes welcome drink, meal, newspapers
and a free taxi upon arrival. Ticket is exchangeable with
British Midland. No restrictions on exchange and refund policy.

Full Fare |
The most flexible ticket. No restrictions on exchange and refund
policy.
|
Senior |
Special fare (First Class only) for passengers 60 years old and older,
on the day of departure. Exchange and full refund up to 2 days
before date of travel. No refund after this date.
|
Leisure |
Available to all travelers, this fare is non exchangeable and 50%
refundable up to 2 days before departure date. It is not refundable
after this date.
|
Pass Holder |
Available for holders of a Eurailpass, a Europass, a France
Railpass, a BritRail Pass or a Benelux Tourrail Pass. Exchange and
full refund up to 2 days before the date of travel, 50% refund after
this date.
|
Child |
Available for children between the ages of 4 and 11 inclusive;
children aged 3 and under travel free but cannot have a reserved seat.
No restrictions on exchange and refund policy.
|
Youth |
Special fare for passengers under age 26 (Standard Class only).
Exchange and full refund up to 2 days before the date of travel.
